....sorrow and sighing will flee away
What has Timelord in common with Mr Topsy Turvy?Answer. We share the same topsy turvy experience of life. Morning good and all that! And there have been things this weekend that have underlined just how much that is true.
I have been reading the writings of Isaiah again and I have been struck by what he says in chapter 35 and my title is taken from the last verse. If you read it there is a kind of topsy turvy story of desert and life, weakness and restoration, and in the end overwhelming joy. But we have to say from our experience ........not yet.
We wait............and while we wait we see around us suffering, pain, fear, bravey and hope in the face of it. Cornish Pixie had this idea of waiting in her worship leading this morning. And as part of it somehow the gaining of strength through waiting on God. How topsy turvy is that!!
So as we enter the season of advent next week end I am determined to stay topsy turvy and face down the crap that afflicts my friends with the hope that is kindled by writers like Isaiah of the day when sorrow and sighing will flee away.
